Its been three weeks since my last blog because Ive been soo busy playing golf and spending time with my family while we play near my stomping grounds.  Decatur, IL and Hammond, IN are practically in my backyard and my Mom traveled with me to Mason, OH event for a bit of R&R.  I didn't do anything outstanding these three events, 37th, 38th, & 47th.  The great news is I am hitting the ball sooooo much further.  Since Ive been average or shorter my entire golfing career, I am a bit uncomfortable and unsure with these new distances.  Wont be long before I get the hang it....then look out.

Im now in Toledo, Ohio trying to earn some money by playing in Pro-ams.  I also played with some Juniors and spoke at the "Optimist Junior" banquet for a few extra dollars.  Bank account is getting sucked dry by my Health Insurance...not sure if Obama is going to make that situation better or worse.  In the meantime I'll keep working on my putting because that is where all the money is made on the links.

The Ups and Downs or professional golf can take a toll on your body and mind.  It is essential to remain optimistic during the difficult times

At the first stage of US Open Qualifying, I failed to play well enough to advance to the sectional.  Initially,  I was devastated, but then realized that this situation could actually work to my advantage.  Most of the other good players have to play 36 holes on 2 separate golf courses in the Sectional US Open qualifying (very time consuming and exhausting).  I, on the other hand, am able to concentrate on the DFT events in Decatur, IL and Mason, OH.  Needless to say, I am looking forward to the next few events because they are so convenient to Chicago, my family, and my golf instructor.

The Iowa tournament turned out to be a terrific event.  Well-organized and red carpet treatment...Sooo Nice.  It was also an extra special event because my friends from the Kansas City tournament (the Leawood South Groupies) all came out to cheer on their favorite golfers.  What a riot.    I finished 25th and was very proud of an under par score on Sunday.
