PA was our 6th event in a row.  Long week...amazing that we were able to get three rounds in.   Rain and darkness led us to finally finish the event on Monday.  My first Monday finish in a professional event since 1997.  This is such an unusual occurence that all the players were in a head spin...changing flights etc.  I had to find a replacement for an outing in Milwaukee as well as change my flight.  Since this was going to cost me a ton of $$, I was tempted to withdraw...but just couldn't bring myself to do so.

We started the 3rd round late afternoon on Sunday.  Jody had to leave me on the 2nd hole to catch his flight.  He said "birdie this hole for me would ya please?!"  I did and 3 more until they blew the horn for darkness.  I left the course very happy, driving on the weavy, two-lane, tree-lined, 35-45mph road....then WHAM, THUNK....a dog came flying out in the road right into the front end of my car.  I turned around, got out of the car apologizing and uncontrollably crying (ya know Im like the biggest dog lover around).   The owners said it wasnt my fault...yada yada yada...the dog is now in doggie heaven.   Soo sad.

The week ended with an 8th place finish.  74-70-68.  Very exhausting...emotionally and physically.

Im on the Leaderboard....Yippee!! I gave it my best shot and the ball just rolled a bit off.  I birdied the 10th hole to go -6.  Surprise bogey on the 11th and had birdie attempts at 12, 13, 14, & 15.  I thought I made 3 of these...urgh, right over the edge!!  Up and Down pars on the 16th & 18th holes.  So I have to say that I did not lose, I got beat.  10th place, but only 3 shots out of first.  I am getting close, my game is coming together.  I feel much more comfortable, confident, & focused  on the course in the last few weeks.

Next event is in Harrisburg, PA on a hilly, tree-lined golf course which is perfect for my game.  Jody will be caddying for me (Im so lucky).  Good week to have him around to point me in the right direction on this new track and save me a ton of footsteps on the monstrous hills.

Check out my web site for new pictures.  My terrific housing host in Richmond, VA happens to be the best photographer this side of the Mississippi.  Thank you Wayne for the awesome photos.

Three events left !!!! My goal was to be in the top 5 by the end of the season.  Im currently 38th on the $ money list.  Time to make a move.  Ive made a lot of progress with my game but still have those "dumb" shots.  You know those shots that come out of the blue, with no warning, shockingly in the wrong direction, or 6 inches behind the ball, or barely making contact.  NO, I AM NOT ASLEEP.  I hit plenty of those shots while I was asleep back in the day (before better treatments for Narcolepsy)  Now, I am fully AWAKE...and have no excuse.  I will say that my scores are lower and I am hitting the ball further.   My final hole yesterday I made an eagle.  One year ago, on the same course, I would not have dreamed of hitting that green in two.  I will remain positive and finish the season strong.  Stay tuned for greater things to come.
