Guinness was the greatest dog alive,
as Im sure every dog owner thinks their dog is the best. But Guinness really was unique. His favorite toy was a "roller" (see picture above). A roller is the inside of a hair curler which is actually a metal spring. Guinness was addicted to this spring. Mention the word roller and he went nuts. In his younger days, Guinness would have chosen roller over a steak. When he got older and wiser, he chose the steak because he knew he would get both anyway. Guinness would hide the roller under the dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, couch and then bark, whine, lick, and dig until he got it out or someone else got it for him. Guinness would also play with his "roller" by hiding it inside blankets or towels. Then he would eat through the material to get it out. Over the years we learned to hang up every jacket and never leave any clothes on the floor. Since we let him eat through "his towels and blankets", he thought everything on the floor was open game. Guinness chewed a few holes in my favorite purple jacket. Ive sewed them up and now it is a great memory. He was such a good boy and very smart even though he never did get the "sit" or "give paw" commands. He mastered "stay", "NO", and "out". Oh "out" was used quite often when he was causing trouble with that "roller" of his. Say the word "out" and he happily took his play into another room, tail wagging the entire time.
Okay I could write forever on my little piggy...so I better get to the golf course.
