 Narcolepsy Links

I discovered the Narcolepsy Network in 1999, three years after I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy.  After attending my first NN conference, I finally began to understand Narcolepsy.  I found new ways to deal with this debilitating disorder.  I was informed that there are many different medications that can help the symptoms of Narcolepsy.  As I watched the entire audience sleep through the conference, I realized I was "normal".  I am soo very grateful to have the NN.  Treatments have come a long way over the years.  I recently attended the 2008 NN conference - sleepy people are few and far between.

Wake Up Narcolepsy
Great organization, dedicated to raising money for Narcolepsy research.  It was started by Kevin Cosgrove in 2008.  Kevin puts on several different fundraising events throughout the year, creating tons of awareness for Narcolepsy while raising money for research. These events are always fun and educational.  Thank you Kevin for putting so much time and effort into Narcolepsy.  You have and will make a tremendous difference in the lives of people with Narcolepsy.  http://www.wakeupnarcolepsy.org/

UCLA has done lots of research on Narcolepsy.  Lots of good information here.  Thank you Dr. Jerome Siegel.

"Living with Narcolepsy" is an amazing documentary video production done by a person with Narcolepsy, Damian.  I met Damian on line a few years back when he was fighting with England to get Xyrem, the medicine he needed to treat Narcolepsy.  I like to call it the Miracle drug.  Damian finally is taking Xyrem and is doing fantastic!!!!

National Sleep Foundation is where you can find anything and everything you want to know about sleep.  Sleep is as important as diet and exercise.  Sleep is where one recharges their batteries and consolidates memories.  Sleep is where learning actually occurs.  Are you and your children getting the sleep they need?  Find out here at www.sleepfoundation.org

www.talkaboutsleep.com is another great resource for sleep questions and answers.
